Mission and Vision

Mission

Our mission is to gather aroundthe table Jesus sets. We trust that at his table Jesus unites us to himself, transforms us into his likeness, and sends us to participate in his mission of redeeming all creation.

Vision

We aspire to be a church that bears witness to the uniting, transforming and sending power of the Lord’s Supper Table.  The following signposts will guide us in our ministries and life together as a church, stirring thanksgiving for the Holy Spirit’s work among us:

1. The Table unites

At the Lord’s Supper Table, we are united in proclaiming the saving power of Jesus’ death and resurrection: recognizing our differences, we gather around the same table.

As a Table-centred church we elevate our unity in Christ above the various convictions we may hold on social, theological, and political issues.

In a world that is becoming increasingly polarized, unity will be our witness.

2. The Table transforms

At the Lord’s Supper Table, we encounter the real presence of Jesus Christ—crucified and risen. In communion with him, we are awakened to his abiding love and formed into his likeness.

As a Table-centred church we seek to be a people continually transformed by the real presence of the risen Christ, host of the table around which we gather.

In a world longing for presence, we embrace the transforming presence of God-with-us.

3. The Table sends
At the Lord’s Supper Table, we receive a foretaste of the communion we will one day fully share with God and one another.  Nourished by this hope, we are sent into the world called to live between what is and what will be – to embody in the present, life in the world to come.

As a Table-centred church, Christ sends us into every sphere of life – our neighborhoods, workplaces, communities, and public life – to extend his grace, mercy and welcome to all people.

In a world searching for meaning and purpose, we join the mission of Christ to redeem all creation.
